Israel’s defense minister has claimed that the United States is preventing Israel from launching large-scale attacks on Iran’s energy infrastructure
According to the minister, Israel is prepared to “set Iran back 40 years,” suggesting that Israeli leaders believe they could inflict severe damage on Iran’s critical infrastructure and significantly delay the country’s long-term development.
He added that Washington is restraining such action out of concern that Iran would retaliate with major attacks against countries across the region, potentially triggering a wider conflict and disrupting global oil supplies, leading to higher energy prices worldwide.
Military analysts generally assess that while Israel has significant long-range strike capabilities, conducting and sustaining a major campaign against Iran without U.S. support would be considerably more difficult.
