Turkish Military Aircraft Reportedly Land Near Sudan Border, Fueling Speculation of Increased Support
Two Turkish Air Force A400M military transport aircraft have reportedly landed at East Al-Oweinat Airport in southern Egypt, a strategic airfield located near the Sudanese border, according to emerging reports.
The aircraft are said to have departed from Tekirdag-Corlu Airport in Turkey, home to facilities operated by Baykar Defense Industries, the manufacturer of the Bayraktar family of unmanned aerial vehicles.
The flights have fueled speculation that Turkey may be expanding its logistical and technical support for the Sudanese Armed Forces (SAF). Analysts suggest the cargo could include equipment, spare parts, maintenance supplies, or components related to Bayraktar drone systems, although no official confirmation has been provided regarding the aircrafts’ payloads.
Neither the Turkish government nor Egyptian authorities have publicly commented on the reported flights. Likewise, there has been no official statement confirming that the deliveries were intended for Sudan or that they included military equipment.
The reported activity comes as Sudan’s conflict continues, with regional and international attention focused on external support for the rival parties. If confirmed, the flights could signal a further strengthening of defense cooperation between Turkey and the Sudanese military, though the purpose of the mission remains unverified.
