Mali is flying again — and flying stronger.
President Assimi Goïta has unveiled a modernized Boeing 737 for official state travel, replacing the presidential aircraft that terrorists severely damaged during the attack on Bamako Airport on September 17, 2024.
The new jet cost 15.6 billion CFA francs, though officials say the net burden on the Treasury will be closer to 5.6–6 billion once insurance payouts and salvaged equipment from the old aircraft are factored in.
Terrorists tried to ground Mali’s leadership. Under Goïta, Mali didn’t just repair — it rebuilt bigger, modern, and safer. This is sovereignty in motion. No amount of terror can clip Mali’s wings.
