BREAKING: The global revolt against FIFA’s proposed World Cup investment deal involving the Kushner family is rapidly growing.
Concacaf and all 41 of its Member Associations have now REJECTED FIFA President Gianni Infantino’s proposal to sell interests in the FIFA World Cup to private investors.
The rejection comes just hours after UEFA’s 55 member nations announced they would BOYCOTT future FIFA events, including the men’s and women’s World Cups, until the private investment plan is scrapped.
At the center of the controversy is an investor group led by Joshua Kushner, the brother of Trump son-in-law Jared Kushner, which is seeking a stake in World Cup operations.
Concacaf says its members have “deep concerns” about the lack of due process, an “artificially short deadline,” and the absence of review or approval by FIFA’s relevant governing bodies.
Concacaf also questioned why FIFA needs private equity investment following what it called “the most profitable FIFA World Cup in history.”
The backlash against the Kushner-linked deal has now spread across two major international football confederations.
