Socialist Party aspiring councilor Christopher Bwalya has commended the Electoral Commission of Zambia (ECZ) for its professionalism in printing and delivering ballot papers ahead of the August 13, 2026, General Elections.
The Silverest strongman praised the ECZ for demonstrating professionalism, efficiency, and transparency throughout the ballot paper printing and delivery process.
He noted that the Commission had fulfilled its constitutional mandate by ensuring that the ballot papers were delivered within the stipulated timeframe.
He further urged fellow politicians to refrain from making speculative statements regarding the electoral process, warning that such remarks could create unnecessary panic among citizens and contribute to voter apathy.
Mr. Bwalya emphasized that political leaders should exercise their freedom of speech responsibly, noting that reckless statements could have negative consequences both during and after the elections.
He expressed confidence in the ECZ’s ability to conduct free, fair, and credible elections, calling on all political stakeholders to trust the Commission as it carries out its constitutional responsibilities.
Mr. Bwalya also appealed to Zambians to remain peaceful throughout the election period and to uphold the country’s unity under the national motto, “One Zambia, One Nation.”
