WHY SIDE WITH UPND WHEN LUNGU’S BODY IS STILL IN THE FRIDGE ASKS FINDLAY.
Businessman Valden Findlay has criticized Charity Banda, the national chairperson of the Miles Sampa-led Patriotic Front (PF) faction, after she publicly aligned herself with the ruling United Party for National Development (UPND).
According to Daily Revelation Zambia, Findlay expressed disappointment in a WhatsApp conversation with Banda, telling her that “God should have mercy on you” for joining forces with the UPND at a time when the late former President Edgar Lungu’s body had not yet been buried.
The reported exchange comes amid heightened political tensions following Lungu’s death and as the country heads toward the August 2026 general elections.
In her response, Charity Banda defended her political position, saying she has participated in Zambian politics and elections for many years and understands that large political rallies do not necessarily translate into electoral victory.
She reportedly cited the late President Michael Sata as an example, noting that despite attracting huge crowds at campaign rallies for years, he only became President after contesting four consecutive general elections.
The exchange highlights the growing political realignments and differing views within Zambia’s political landscape, particularly as parties intensify campaigns ahead of the elections.

Using a dead body as the “vision” to improve the quality of life for an entire nation.
We don’t have elders.
We have idiots.
