PRESIDENT HICHILEMA DATES EASTERN PROVINCE FOR A TWO-DAY TOUR OF 7 DISTRICTS.
President Hakainde Hichilema is expected to embark on a two-day campaign tour of Eastern Province this Sunday and Monday as he continues to engage voters ahead of the August 13 general elections.
Eastern Province Permanent Secretary Paul Thole has confirmed that the Head of State will begin his tour on Sunday with campaign rallies in Katete, Chadiza, Vubwi and Chipata districts.
Mr. Thole said President Hichilema will conclude the provincial tour on Monday with rallies in Kasenengwa, Chipangali and Mambwe districts.
The visit will mark President Hichilema’s second trip to Eastern Province during the 2026 general election campaign as he seeks support for the ruling United Party for National Development (UPND) ahead of polling day on August 13.
President Hakainde Hichilema, who won the presidency in 2021, is being challenged by 13 candidates, including, in no particular order, Brian Mundubile, the sole female candidate Given Katuta, Harry Kalaba, Brian Mushimba and Fred M’membe, among others.
