Why Brian Mundubile is Asking for your Help

On 17th March 2026, Brian Mundubile was enroute to South Africa to source campaign resources. Just 30 minutes before check-in at the airport, officers who identified themselves as being from State House intercepted him. They told him he could not travel because he was “under investigation.”

Mundubile pleaded with them, saying the trip was urgent and he would attend to them on his return. They refused.

He was taken to Ibex Police Station where his phones and passport were confiscated. He spent the night in police cells without being charged.

The next day, pressure mounted as chiefs from Bemba land arrived to show solidarity. He was then quickly released — and charged with allegedly abetting hate speech committed by another person four years ago.

To date, Mundubile’s phones, passport and other documents have not been returned. His Lawyer, Mr. George Chisanga has called the confiscation unlawful and a violation of his rights.

Before campaigns began, a well-wisher offered to fund choppers for him, but Government denied airspace.

Despite this, Mundubile’s campaign has not stopped. He has traversed the length and breadth of the country by road, visiting 70 districts and covering over 4,000 kilometers.

Now, with 11 days left before campaigns end, he is asking citizens for support to give him “one final push.”

  1. A criminal is a criminal.

1.5 BILLION kwacha is not a joke.

Let the suspect exculpate themselves before a court of law. Not on social media.

I am surprised he was even allowed to stand.
But if he was a morally upstanding citizen, he would have put aside ambitions to hold public office until his name was cleared.
The man is desperate to get into power. Because he knows he is going to jail.
