#UPDATE: Bodies of Bulawayo triple murder victims delayed again after missed connecting flight
The bodies of Bulawayo triple murder victims Nothabo Zandile Khumalo and her daughters, Natalie and Nala, have been delayed for a second consecutive day after missing a connecting flight from Addis Ababa to Bulawayo, The NewsHawks reports.
The three, who were allegedly murdered a month ago by Nothabo’s husband, Ndodana Mkhanyisi Tshuma, had initially been expected to arrive in Bulawayo on Saturday ahead of their burial on Monday or Tuesday.
According to The NewsHawks, the Ethiopian Airlines flight carrying the bodies from London was unable to land at Addis Ababa’s Bole International Airport due to bad weather and was diverted to neighbouring Djibouti.
By the time the aircraft eventually arrived in Addis Ababa from Djibouti, the connecting Ethiopian Airlines flight to Bulawayo had already departed, resulting in a further delay to the repatriation of the bodies.
The Addis Ababa-Bulawayo service operates via Ndola, Zambia, before continuing to Joshua Mqabuko Nkomo International Airport in Bulawayo. The latest setback means the family will have to wait even longer before laying the three to rest.
