ELVIS MAINZA ERECTS TOMBSTONE ON GRAVE OF ANDERSON KAMBELA’S FATHER IN MONZE
Independent Monze Central Constituency candidate Elvis Mainza has paid tribute to the late UPND founder Anderson Kambela Mazoka by erecting a tombstone on the grave of Mazoka’s father, Juda Mazoka.
Mainza said individuals such as the late Juda Mazoka deserve recognition for raising a son who founded the United Party for National Development (UPND), the party now in government.
He noted that although Anderson Mazoka did not live to see the full realisation of plans conceived in Choobana village under his father’s guidance, Zambia has undergone transformation across various sectors under the UPND administration lead by President Hakainde Hichilema.
The candidate expressed gratitude to the late freedom fighters whose efforts contributed to national progress.
He specifically highlighted the introduction of free education and the increase of the Constituency Development Fund from K1.6 million to K40 million, reforms he attributed to the party founded by Mazoka and now leading the country.
“The late Juda Mazoka must be appreciated by every meaningful Zambian because he is the one who produced a son who founded the party in government today,” Mainza said.
Family members of the late Juda Mazoka have thanked Mainza for the gesture and for recognising the roots of the UPND.
Speaking on behalf of the family, Edith Mazoka said the family now feels connected to the party after previously sensing neglect at the grassroots level.
“We are grateful to the son of the soil, Mainza, for attaching the family to the grassroots of the UPND,” she said. “I have a feeling that Mazoka will now sleep in peace and is happy in the grave because his father has been honoured by Elvis Mainza.”
