Ukraine Launches Massive Drone Assault Deep Inside Russia
Ukraine launched a large-scale overnight drone attack targeting military facilities and energy infrastructure across multiple regions of Russia, in one of the deepest long-range strike operations of the conflict.
Russian authorities claimed that air defense systems intercepted more than 635 Ukrainian drones, although strikes were reported in several regions.
In Saratov, drones reportedly struck the Saratov Oil Refinery and the Engels Air Base, home to Russia’s long-range strategic bomber fleet.
In Udmurtia, more than 1,300 kilometers from the Ukrainian border, a drone strike was reported, with local authorities saying three people were killed.
Meanwhile, in the Belgorod region, officials reported another attack that left three people dead and five others injured.
The latest wave of attacks underscores Ukraine’s continued long-range campaign against Russian military and energy infrastructure far from the front lines.
