SOME DECISIONS LOOK EXPENSIVE… UNTIL THE DAY THEY SAVE A NATION.

Some leaders plan for the next election. Others plan for the next generation.

For years, Iran invested billions of dollars in missiles, drones, air defenses, and military technology.

Many people both inside and outside Iran questioned those priorities.

They asked:

“Why not spend more on hospitals?”
“Why not build more roads?”
“Why prepare for a war that may never come?”

It sounded logical at the time. Spend on today. Fix what’s broken now.

But here’s the thing about true leadership: it sees the storm before the clouds gather.

Those questions were understandable.

But Iran’s leadership argued that without national security, everything else could be at risk.

Fast forward to today.

Iran has faced years of sanctions, cyberattacks, sabotage, assassinations of senior military officers and nuclear scientists, and direct military confrontations.

Whether you agree with Iran’s policies or not, one reality is difficult to ignore:

Despite enormous pressure, Iran has remained an independent state and has developed one of the Middle East’s largest missile and drone programs.

Supporters of Ayatollah Khamenei argue that these investments created a powerful deterrent, making any large-scale attack against Iran far more costly than it might otherwise have been.

History offers many examples of nations that were unable to defend themselves and paid a heavy price.

The lesson isn’t that military power solves every problem.

It’s that many governments believe security is the foundation upon which everything else—economic growth, infrastructure, healthcare, and national sovereignty depends.

Sometimes, the investments people criticize today are the ones they understand only when tomorrow arrives.
