BREAKING: U.S. Military Announces Southern Lane of Strait of Hormuz Is Open to Commercial Shopping
The U.S. military has announced that the southern shipping lane of the Strait of Hormuz is open for commercial maritime traffic, urging merchant vessels to transit the strategic waterway without fear.
In a statement, U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) said it has assisted more than 1,000 commercial ships in safely navigating the Strait of Hormuz over the past three months, despite what it described as “provocative, aggressive, and unjustified” actions by the Islamic Republic of Iran.
CENTCOM emphasized that it remains committed to ensuring freedom of navigation and maintaining the security of one of the world’s most critical maritime trade routes, through which a significant share of global oil and liquefied natural gas exports passes.
The announcement comes amid continued regional tensions and heightened military activity in the Gulf, with the Strait of Hormuz remaining a focal point for international shipping and energy security.
