NAMIBIA REFUSED ENTRY TO SHIP CARRYING EXPLOSIVES LINKED TO ISRAEL
On 24 August 2024, Namibia denied the MV Kathrin permission to dock at the Port of Walvis Bay after authorities established that the vessel was transporting military explosives reportedly destined for Israel.
The decision was taken by Namibian authorities after the required clearance for the dangerous cargo was not granted. The vessel was subsequently forced to continue its journey without docking in Namibia.
The move attracted international attention and was widely seen as reflecting Namibia’s position against the transfer of military cargo connected to the ongoing conflict in Gaza.
Do you think Namibia made the right decision ?
