UPND Calls for Investigation into Luampa Violence
The UPND in Western Province has urged the Zambia Police Service to thoroughly investigate the violence that erupted during NRPUP presidential candidate Brian Mundubile’s campaign in Luampa District.
In a statement, Western Province Chairperson Kapelwa Mbangweta said the province has remained peaceful over the years and should not be portrayed as violent calling on all political parties to conduct peaceful campaigns and respect the rule of law.
The Luampa clashes is reported to have left several officials injured, raising concerns over political violence ahead of the August 13 general election.
