Saudi Foreign Minister: “Jerusalem Must Be a City of Peace, Not Conflict”
Saudi Arabia’s Foreign Minister has emphasized the spiritual and historical importance of Jerusalem, calling for the holy city to become a symbol of peace and coexistence rather than conflict.
Speaking on the issue, the minister said that Jerusalem holds a special place in the hearts of millions of Muslims, Christians, and Jews around the world. He stressed that the city’s unique religious significance should unite people instead of serving as a source of violence and division.
“Jerusalem is a city deeply cherished by millions of Muslims, Christians, and Jews. It should not be a place of conflict, but a city where peace and coexistence prevail,” the minister said.
The remarks reflect Saudi Arabia’s longstanding position in support of efforts to achieve a peaceful resolution to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, including the protection of Jerusalem’s religious sites and the promotion of dialogue among the three Abrahamic faiths.
The statement comes amid continued regional tensions and renewed international calls for de-escalation, with many governments urging all parties to preserve the city’s sacred character and work toward lasting peace.
