For the last 4 years, Cameroon’s President Paul Biya has been living in Switzerland with his family.

He rarely visits Cameroon, and only when there is an important function he cannot avoid.

In 2024, he visited the country after rumors spread that he had died.

He flew into Cameroon, appeared in public, took photos to confirm he was alive, and then left the country. 

In 2025, he returned for about 1 month to campaign and flew back to Geneva after the campaigns.

After he was declared the winner, he came back again to be sworn in for his 7th term as President.

The moment the swearing-in ceremony was over, he left for Switzerland where he is currently living.

He has announced a major military reshuffle from abroad after getting intelligence reports of planned coup.
