INDEPENDENT GWEMBE ASPIRING MP HELD IN POLICE CUSTODY FOR THREE DAYS

Independent aspiring Member of Parliament for Gwembe Constituency, Macloudine Muleya Ntundu, has remained in police custody for three (3) days without being formally charged.

His campaign team alleges that the detention is intended to prevent him from conducting campaign activities, supervising his campaign team and monitoring agents ahead of Zambia’s general election scheduled for Thursday, August 13.

The team further claims this is the second time Mr. Ntundu has been arrested without charge since filing his nomination papers as an independent candidate for the Gwembe parliamentary seat.
