Iranian Cleric Calls for Missiles Capable of Reaching the United States
A senior Iranian cleric has reportedly called for Iran to develop missiles with a range of up to 15,000 kilometers, a capability that would potentially place the continental United States within reach.
Abdolnabi Mousavi-Fard, Friday prayer leader in Ahvaz, reportedly said Iran is preparing to extend the range of its missile systems so they could strike what he described as “the depths of the United States.”
“We are preparing so that the American people can also see what it means to be hit by missiles and understand what it means to be plunged into blood and destruction,” he was quoted as saying.

A missile with a range of 15,000 kilometers would go far beyond the range generally associated with Iran’s current publicly known ballistic-missile arsenal. Such a capability would represent a dramatic technological development and could potentially give Iran an intercontinental strike capability
