.. President to storm four districts in intensive one-day blitz while VP commissions Kaputa power grid

PRESIDENT Hakainde Hichilema is scheduled to touch down in the Northern Province , Saturday, August 8, 2026, for a high-octane, one-day working visit spanning four districts.
The Head of State would swiftly move through Lupososhi, Luwingu, Lunte and Senga Hill districts to engage directly with local communities.
Acting Northern Province Permanent Secretary Beauty Phiri confirmed the itinerary during a media briefing in Kasama.
She stated that the tour allows the President to highlight key development interventions driving the New Dawn Administration’s agenda.
The Government aims to bridge the gap between leadership and citizens, keeping communities fully informed on active projects.
Residents were urged to turn out in large numbers and voice their community concerns directly to the President.
Immediately following the President’s departure, Vice President Mutale Nalumango will arrive in the province on Sunday, August 9, 2026.
The Vice President will head straight to Kaputa Distric where she is scheduled to officially commission the long-awaited Mukupa-Katandula Grid Extension Project, marking a massive boost for local energy infrastructure.
