NETANYAHU: ISRAEL WILL NOT ALLOW IRAN TO OBTAIN A NUCLEAR WEAPON
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has vowed that Israel will continue working to prevent Iran from obtaining a nuclear weapon, citing remarks attributed to IRGC commander Ahmad Vahidi about Iran’s nuclear ambitions.
“We heard today the commander of Iran’s IRGC, Ahmad Vahidi, declare that Iran intends to continue developing a nuclear weapon. As Israel’s prime minister, I am determined to prevent Iran from obtaining a nuclear weapon,” Netanyahu said.
The statement raises questions about the future of the conflict. Even if Washington were to reach a diplomatic or ceasefire agreement with Tehran, Netanyahu’s position suggests that Israel could continue military action if it concludes that Iran is rebuilding or advancing its nuclear program.
