Russia Releases Footage Claiming Strikes on Three Cargo Ships Near Odesa and Mykolaiv

Russia’s Defense Ministry has released footage claiming that Russian forces used explosive-laden FPV drones and Shahed/Geran-type drones to strike three dry-cargo vessels in the Black Sea near the Ukrainian ports of Odesa and Mykolaiv.

Moscow claimed the vessels were being used to transport Western-supplied weapons, drone equipment and other military materiel to Ukraine, and described them as legitimate military targets.

The reported strikes come amid a broader escalation of maritime attacks in the Black Sea, with Russia targeting Ukrainian ports and logistics routes while Ukraine has increasingly used aerial and maritime drones against Russian shipping and infrastructure around Novorossiysk.
