HICHILEMA HAS BROUGHT PEACE BUT WILL LOSE ELECTIONS, SAYS MAXWELL CHONGU
Toonse Pamodzi Alliance member Maxwell Chongu says President Hakainde Hichilema has brought peace and stability to Zambia, but believes he is on course to lose the upcoming General Elections.
Chongu, who ditched the Citizen First Party last month, says despite acknowledging the stability and peace he believes the UPND Government has brought by ending political cadreism, Zambians have already made up their minds to change government
Mr. Chongu says he has always been an advocate for peaceful coexistence among supporters of different political parties and has never supported political violence.
He recalls that during the Patriotic Front administration, he was beaten by young people in Petauke, an incident he associates with Emmanuel Jay Jay Banda.
“I support peaceful coexistence among supporters of different political parties. UPND has brought stability and peace by putting an end to cadreism. This is how we should be living,” he said.
However, Chongu says the peace and stability credited to the UPND Government may not be enough to save President Hichilema from defeat.
“But despite the fact that they brought an end to cadreism, Zambians have already decided to change government. They want to remove Hakainde Hichilema and put Mundubile in office,” he said.
