PAKISTAN DEFENSE MINISTER CALLS FOR UNITED MUSLIM MILITARY FORCE TO COUNTER ISRAEL
Pakistan’s Defense Minister Khawaja Asif has warned that Israel poses a threat to Muslim-majority countries and called for greater military unity among Muslim nations to confront what he described as the Israeli threat.
His remarks came just one day after Pakistan, Saudi Arabia and Turkey signed a broad defense cooperation agreement, aimed at strengthening security coordination among the three countries.
Asif, who has previously described Israel as a “cancerous state” and an “evil inflicted upon humanity,” accused Israel of continuing efforts to create divisions and conflict among Muslim countries.
He argued that even a change in Israel’s leadership would not necessarily alter what he considers to be the country’s long-standing policy toward the Palestinians.
Asif therefore called on Muslim-majority states to strengthen their collective defense capabilities and remain united until a lasting solution is reached to the Palestinian issue.
The comments come as Pakistan, Saudi Arabia and Turkey move toward deeper defense cooperation a development that could have significant implications for the Middle East and wider Muslim world.
The emerging security partnership is increasingly being viewed as a potential foundation for broader military cooperation among Muslim-majority countries.
