TONSE PAMODZI ALLIANCE CHALLENGES THABO KAWANA TO BACK OPPOSITION VIOLENCE CLAIMS WITH EVIDENCE

Tonse Pamodzi Alliance Secretary General Celestine Mukandila has challenged Information and Media Permanent Secretary Thabo Kawana to report to the police any opposition political parties allegedly orchestrating acts of violence.
This follows allegations by Mr. Kawana that opposition political parties are behind the recent incidents of political violence recorded ahead of the August 13 General Election.
Speaking in an interview with Phoenix News, Mr. Mukandila has dismissed Mr. Kawana’s claims, saying there is clear evidence including pictures and videos identifying the individuals responsible for the recent disturbances.
He has argued that the focus should be on holding the identified suspects accountable instead of making broad accusations against opposition political parties without presenting evidence.
Mr. Mukandila further says it is unacceptable for individuals accused of committing criminal offences to escape prosecution simply because they are affiliated with the ruling party.
He has stressed that the law must be applied fairly and equally to everyone, regardless of political affiliation, to ensure justice and maintain public confidence in the country’s legal system.
