POLICE SHAKE UP: Luapula Police Commissioner Stephen Palata Transferred with Immediate Effect Amid Opposition Interaction Rumours
The Luapula Province Police Commissioner, Stephen Palata, has been transferred to the Lilly Police College with immediate effect. Reports indicate that Mr. Palata has been ordered to clear his office and leave the province today.
While official reasons for the sudden directive remain unverified, unconfirmed reports suggest the transfer follows allegations that the commissioner was spotted interacting with members of an opposition political party and for tolerating opposition political parties to campaign freely without teargassing them in Luapula.
It is alleged that the commissioner was given specific instructions to find a reason to disrupt the Mansa NRPUP rally which he failed, further allegations are that he was told to apprehend and detain Hon Binwell Mpundu before leaving Luapula when the court issued the bench warrant of which he ignored
No official statement has been released by the police command regarding these underlying allegations.
By the way lets all be alert this weekend upto Thursday pre Marked ballot are scheduled to he transported in various constituencies. Any mischievous behaviour by people involved a good and unforgettable lesson must be taught to
