U.S. EMBASSY WARNS PUBLIC TO STAY AWAY FROM CHABELLEY AIR BASE IN DJIBOUTI
The U.S. Embassy in Djibouti has warned the public to avoid the area around Chabelley Air Base, south of Djibouti City, after a malfunctioning aircraft was reportedly observed circling over the base.
In a warning posted on social media, the embassy said efforts were still underway to resolve the aircraft-related situation.
⚠️ Authorities are concerned that the aircraft could potentially crash or cause damage. The public has been urged to stay away from the area until the situation is assessed and declared safe.
The embassy advised residents to follow official instructions and avoid approaching the base or surrounding area.
