The controversy intensified after U.S. President Donald Trump shared a photomontage featuring himself above Greenland with the caption “Hello, Greenland.” Critics interpreted the post as a provocative message amid Washington’s renewed interest in the Arctic territory.
The reported incident has fueled fresh concerns over Greenland’s sovereignty, natural resources and U.S. ambitions in the Arctic, with authorities in Nuuk making clear that foreign companies cannot simply operate there without local authorization.
