ZALUZHNYI: RUSSIA FOUND COUNTERS TO ALMOST EVERY WEAPON USED BY UKRAINE
Former Ukrainian Commander-in-Chief Valerii Zaluzhnyi says that by 2026, Ukraine has employed virtually every major type of conventional weapon available to it with Tomahawk missiles, nuclear weapons, aircraft carriers and F-35 fighter jets among the notable exceptions.
According to Zaluzhnyi, Russia has repeatedly adapted its battlefield tactics and technology to counter newly introduced Ukrainian weapons.
He pointed to HIMARS as a key example, saying the U.S.-supplied system played an important role in Ukraine’s liberation of Kherson, but that Russia rapidly developed countermeasures that significantly reduced its effectiveness.
Zaluzhnyi’s remarks highlight the accelerating arms-and-countermeasures race in the Ukraine war, where advantages from new weapons can diminish as opposing forces adapt.
