LIATO FAMILY DISMISSES POISON CLAIMS SURROUNDING FORMER MINISTER’S DEATH.

The family of late former Cabinet Minister Austin Chisangu Liato has distanced itself from claims that he was poisoned or murdered.

In a statement dated 9 August 2026, the family says it has not issued or authorised any statement alleging that Mr Liato was poisoned, murdered or otherwise killed by the Government or any other person or institution.

The family has urged the public to refrain from attributing unverified statements to it, saying it does not wish to speculate about the circumstances surrounding his death.

It has also thanked the Government, relatives, friends and members of the public for their support and called for privacy as the family mourns Mr Liato.
