Iran Rejects Trump’s Call for a Deal, Vows to Continue Resistance
Iran has pushed back strongly against President Donald Trump’s latest remarks that Tehran is eager to reach a deal with Washington, insisting that it will not accept any agreement that undermines its national interests.
Trump said Iran is “very much” seeking an agreement, signaling that Washington believes Tehran may be willing to return to negotiations. However, Iranian officials have responded by making clear that any future deal must protect Iran’s interests and cannot be imposed on Tehran on American terms.
Iran’s position, as stated by officials, is that the country will continue what it describes as its resistance and struggle until it achieves all of its objectives.
Tehran has also indicated that it is prepared for a prolonged standoff with Washington, even if that means waiting until the end of Trump’s current presidential term.
“We will continue the struggle until we achieve all our objectives. Even if it means waiting until the end of President Trump’s term, we will do so.”
Iran has further rejected the idea of an agreement dictated by the United States, stressing that negotiations can only produce a deal based on conditions acceptable to Tehran.
The sharp exchange highlights the widening gap between Washington and Tehran. While Trump is publicly emphasizing Iran’s interest in reaching an agreement, Iran is signaling that it does not intend to make concessions simply to satisfy U.S. demands.
The dispute also raises questions over whether a diplomatic breakthrough is possible as both sides maintain fundamentally different positions over the terms of any potential agreement.
