UNITED STATES: North Carolina Imam Calls U.S. a “Gold Mine” for Dawah, Predicts Muslims Will Outnumber Christians in 50 Years

A North Carolina imam says the U.S. Constitution makes America the best place in the world to spread Islam.

In a Friday sermon at the Muslim Community Center in Charlotte, Imam Haroon Sait told congregants the U.S. offers unmatched freedom for da’wah

“We are in a gold mine,” he said. “There are no restrictions on da’wah.” He compared it to Saudi Arabia, where open proselytizing isn’t allowed.

He claimed he could stand in the middle of Manhattan and call people to Islam with no interference. “Nobody can stop me.”

Looking ahead, Sait predicted that in 50 years Muslims would become the number one religious group in America, ahead of Christians. He added that approaching Christians with the message of Islam is “the easiest thing to do.”

While private religious arbitration is allowed under federal law, several states including North Carolina, Texas, and Florida have passed laws blocking courts from enforcing foreign or religious law when it conflicts with constitutional rights.

Texas has investigated claimed Islamic tribunals and blocked projects accused of creating parallel communities. Federal bills to reinforce those limits have also been introduced.
