IRGC Commander Warns of Regional Escalation if Iran Is Attacked Again
A senior commander in Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) claimed that nearly 40 U.S. warships were present in the region before the conflict, but said that no U.S. warship is currently stationed in the Persian Gulf, according to Iran’s Fars News Agency.
The commander also issued a warning that any renewed attack on Iran could trigger a much wider regional conflict.
“If Iran is threatened again, energy transmission lines, power facilities, and all American and non-American systems, as well as even global internet infrastructure, will be at risk.”
The remarks represent a significant escalation in Iran’s rhetoric and suggest that Tehran could target critical infrastructure beyond military installations if another conflict breaks out.
