UKRAINIAN DRONES STRIKE ONE OF RUSSIA’S LARGEST PETROCHEMICAL COMPLEXES — DEEP IN BASHKORTOSTAN
Ukrainian drones have struck Gazprom Neftekhim Salavat in Bashkortostan, one of Russia’s largest oil-refining and petrochemical complexes.
The facility sits roughly 1,300 kilometers from Ukraine’s border and around 1,400 kilometers from the active front, depending on the reference point — another reminder that Russia’s deep rear is increasingly becoming vulnerable to Ukrainian long-range strikes.
Salavat is not a small target. The complex processes millions of tonnes of hydrocarbons each year and produces gasoline, diesel, fuel oil, bitumen, polyethylene and other petrochemical products tied into Russia’s broader industrial and energy system.
