PRESIDENT HICHILEMA URGES ZAMBIANS TO VOTE IN LARGE NUMBERS
PRESIDENT Hakainde Hichilema has urged registered voters to turn out in large numbers and cast their ballots peacefully before polls close at 18:00.
President Hichilema said the decision on who would lead Zambia for the next five years rested with the people, urging citizens to exercise their democratic right.
“We have cast our ballot, one vote among millions,” President Hichilema said.
He encouraged voters to go to polling stations with their families, friends and neighbours, while respecting others’ right to make their own choices.
President Hichilema reminded voters to carry their green National Registration Cards (NRCs) and voter’s cards.
“Go and vote in huge numbers,” he said.
He said democracy was strengthened whenever citizens participated in elections and urged Zambians to remain peaceful throughout the voting process
