Israeli Minister Warns Syria Could Become Next Front in Regional Conflict

Israeli Diaspora Affairs Minister Amichai Chikli has warned that Syria could become the site of Israel’s next major conflict, saying he believes a confrontation there may be unavoidable.

Chikli described Syrian President Ahmed al-Sharaa (Abu Mohammad al-Julani) as a potential future adversary of Israel, arguing that Syria’s strategic position and its ties with Turkey could pose a growing security challenge

“Julani will be Israel’s next enemy,” Chikli said, pointing to Syria’s access to two ports and what he described as the backing of a major regional power  Turkey.

His remarks underscore growing Israeli concerns over Syria’s evolving political and military landscape and Ankara’s expanding influence in the country.
