UNITED STATES: Florida Woman Arrested After Allegedly Carjacking Walmart Security Vehicle in Orlando
Orlando police arrested a Florida woman early Tuesday after she allegedly pushed a Walmart security guard and took control of his marked patrol vehicle, according to an Orange County arrest affidavit.
Officers responded to the Walmart at 3101 W. Princeton Street shortly after 1 a.m. for a reported battery. Dispatchers told responding officers the suspect had gotten into the security guard’s vehicle.
When police arrived, they found Anny Louis, 38, sitting in the driver’s seat “drinking a soda,” the report states. Officers said they gave commands for her to exit, but she did not comply. Police then removed her from the vehicle and placed her in handcuffs.
The security guard told officers he had approached Louis while on duty and in full uniform after seeing her sitting on a curb in the parking lot. He said she charged at him, pushed him in the face with an open hand, then entered his vehicle and tried to adjust the seat and put it in drive.
“Louis then attempted to drive away, but was unable to due to [REDACTED] turning off the vehicle while she struggled with the gear shifter,” the affidavit reads.
The guard said he removed the keys, called 911, and confirmed Louis did not have permission to enter the vehicle or strike him. He reported no injuries and said he wanted to press charges.
Louis was booked into the Orange County Jail and now faces charges of carjacking and battery on a security officer.
