NRPUP’S KABWITA ELECTED MAYOR OF KITWE
NRPUP mayoral candidate Charles Kabwita has been elected as the new Mayor of Kitwe in the 2026 General Election.
Kabwita’s victory gives NRPUP control of the local authority in Kitwe adding to the party’s electoral gains across the Copperbelt.
His election marks a change in leadership for the city following Thursday’s local government elections.
Zambians went to the polls on August 13, 2026, to elect the President, Members of Parliament, mayors, council chairpersons and councillors.
