UAE Condemns Iran After Two ADNOC Vessels Attacked in Strait of Hormuz

The United Arab Emirates has strongly condemned Iran after two vessels linked to state-owned Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC) were attacked while transiting the Strait of Hormuz on August 13. ADNOC confirmed the vessels were attacked and said the situation was brought under control. No injuries were reported.

The UAE described the incident as a hostile act and an act of piracy, warning that attacks on commercial shipping pose a direct threat to regional stability and global energy security.

Iran has not immediately responded to the UAE’s latest accusations. The incident comes amid sharply reduced shipping traffic through the Strait, as Washington and Tehran continue to dispute control over the strategic waterway.
