Erdogan: Turkey Has Become a Self-Reliant Defense Power
Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan said Turkey has transformed its defense industry from one heavily dependent on foreign suppliers into a country capable of producing a wide range of advanced military systems domestically.
“From a country that once bought even its infantry weapons from abroad, we have turned Turkey into a country capable of producing its own tanks, aircraft, helicopters, unmanned aerial vehicles, warships, missiles and submarines,” Erdoğan said.
He also reflected on his long political career, saying he has been involved in politics for around 50 years and intends to continue serving Turkey for many more years if granted good health and a long life.
“I, Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, have been in politics for 50 years. If God grants me health and a long life, I will continue my struggle to serve Turkey for many more years,” he said.
