CONFUSION ERUPTS AT LUSAKA’S MATERO BOYS TOTALLING CENTRE

Confusion has erupted at Lusaka’s Matero Boys secondary school, the totalling centre for Matero Constituency, after Resolute Party candidate Patrick Salubusa alleged discrepancies in the results announced by the Returning Officer.
For the parliamentary election, Mr Salubusa claims the GEN 20 forms obtained from polling stations contain different figures that do not match the Returning Officer’s final results.
At the presidential level, he has also raised similar concerns and called on the Electoral Commission of Zambia (ECZ) to briefly suspend the process until the issues are resolved.
The ECZ has since halted the process for 10 minutes and is yet to resume.
Mr Salubusa, the Resolute Party candidate, is currently among the top two candidates, alongside UPND’s Alexander Mumba Sakala, in a contest that attracted four parliamentary aspirants.
