Musenge wins Chimwemwe
MWENYA Musenge has been elected Member of Parliament for Kitwe’s Chimwemwe Constituency on the National Reconciliation Party for Unity and Prosperity (NRPUP) ticket after securing 17,484 votes.
Mr Musenge emerged victorious from a five-candidate race, defeating his closest challenger, United Party for National Development (UPND) candidate Mwaya Mpasa, who polled 10,880 votes.
Independent candidate Daniel Makina came third with 4,602 votes, while Citizens First (CF) candidate Crispin Kabangila and independent candidate Patrick Simwanza managed 560 and 550 votes, respectively.
