GIVE ME THE SIGNAL, LORD
Lord, the people spoke through their votes, and I have evidence from the Gen 20 forms collected at polling stations showing that I won the election.
Yet, at the totaling centre, a few individuals allegedly produced their own Gen 20 forms. My team confronted them and, in the ensuing confrontation, the police had to intervene and separate the parties. Shockingly, we later discovered that the figures on those disputed forms were being treated as authentic.
We examined the 104 Gen 20 forms presented by the ECZ for the Matero parliamentary election and identified 35 forms where our results had allegedly been swapped, with my votes given to my competitor. We raised these concerns and presented evidence, but the Returning Officer said the matter was beyond his authority.
After a heated debate, we took a break. When proceedings resumed, we asked my competitor’s team to produce the Gen 20 forms collected by their own polling agents. They had none. To us, this raised serious questions about the source and authenticity of the figures being presented at the totaling centre.
Lord, the Gen 20 forms in my hands show a decisive victory for me – one that reflects what the people of Matero told us through their votes. Yet a few privileged individuals now appear determined to decide the future of an entire constituency.
If this is Your will, Lord, let it be.
But if it is not, give me the signal.
Guide my steps. Give me the courage and wisdom to stand for a Matero where the MP is chosen by the majority – not imposed by the minority; where the people’s vote is respected; and where truth is not sacrificed for power.
My God, my Lord, I am not desperate for power. I am desperate to see a Matero where success stories are built on doing what is right, where integrity is valued, and where no position is worth throwing away our principles.
I have done what I can. I have presented the evidence. I have defended the people’s mandate. Now, Lord, give me the signal. Show me the way. Guide my steps.
And let Your will – and the genuine will of the people of Matero – prevail.
Amen.
