South Korea Officially Rejects Zelensky’s Appeal for Military Aid

South Korea has reportedly rejected Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky’s request for additional military assistance, saying Seoul will not provide lethal weapons or air-defense systems to Ukraine.

According to a statement from South Korea’s Foreign Ministry, Seoul maintains its policy of not directly supplying lethal military equipment to Kyiv.

Zelensky had appealed to South Korea for assistance as Ukraine faces continued Russian missile and drone attacks, including the reported use of North Korean ballistic missiles by Russian forces.

Kyiv has repeatedly sought additional air-defense capabilities as its stockpiles of interceptor missiles come under increasing pressure.

The decision highlights South Korea’s cautious approach to the war, particularly given its own security concerns involving North Korea, which has significantly deepened military cooperation with Russia

🇰🇷 Seoul continues to provide humanitarian and non-lethal assistance to Ukraine while stopping short of supplying weapons that could directly be used on the battlefield.
