Russia and North Korea Say They Are Fighting to Build a New World Order
Russia and North Korea say their military partnership is helping build what they describe as a new and more just world order.
Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov made the remarks in a letter to his North Korean counterpart, praising the two countries’ military cooperation and North Korea’s deployment of troops to Russia’s Kursk region.
Lavrov said Moscow and Pyongyang are fighting on the same front against Ukrainian forces and foreign mercenaries, describing the relationship as a partnership forged through shared history and battlefield cooperation.
North Korean leader Kim Jong Un and Russian President Vladimir Putin have also exchanged messages reaffirming their alliance, with Putin describing bilateral cooperation as having reached an unprecedented level of strategic partnership.
North Korean troops have been involved alongside Russian forces in the Kursk region since late 2024. In return, Moscow has reportedly provided Pyongyang with fuel, food, technical assistance and military-related support
The growing Russia–North Korea alliance reflects a broader push by both countries toward a multipolar world order and greater resistance to US-led global influence.
The partnership is no longer limited to political rhetoric—it now includes military cooperation, economic ties and battlefield coordination.
Could the Russia–North Korea alliance become a major pillar of a new global power structure?
