We’re petitioning the results — Munir Zulu
TONSE PAMODZI member, Munir Zulu says the Alliance is petitioning election results that saw incumbent President, Hakainde Hichilema declared President-elect.
And Zulu says the Alliance has decided to petition the results because it wants to the world to see the truth.
Speaking in a short video clip, Zulu calls on supporters to remain peaceful.
“The leadership is doing everything possible to take the matter to the constitutional court. We are petitioning the results
“Of course there are those of you that are saying there is nothing you’re going to achieve when you go to Court. But at least, everyone will know the truth. The only thing that the leadership is demanding from all of us, is that let us be calm, be peaceful and orderly,” he says.
He says the Alliance condemns acts of violence recorded in the country following the declaration of President Hichilema as President-elect, early this morning.
“We should not do anything. That will put us in harm’s way with the law. We’re petitioning the results. The issue of whether we will succeed legally, is a topic for another discussion. But just know that we’re going to the Constitutional Court so that the world can see and know the truth
“We condemn the violence that has erupted in various parts of our society. Know that the leadership is not sleeping. It is working round the clock,” says Zulu.
