Senior Russian Military Official Warns Israel Could “Cease to Exist”
Russian Lieutenant General Apti Alaudinov, commander of the Akhmat special forces and a senior official in the Russian military’s political-military structure, has warned that the escalating conflict in the Middle East could eventually threaten Israel’s very existence.
According to Alaudinov, Israel is seeking to broaden the conflict in an effort to draw the United States and potentially NATO more directly into the confrontation.
He argued that such a strategy could lead Israel to “overestimate its capabilities” and ultimately “cease to exist as a state.”
The remarks, reported by Russia’s state news agency TASS on August 19, come amid continued tensions involving Israel, Iran and the United States, with concerns growing over the possibility of a wider regional confrontation.
