The killing of Mutotwe Kafwaya is very frightening, very saddening, and it is very annoying. The news of his death has sent a cold chill down our spines and has deeply moved the leadership of the Socialist Party.
We send special condolences to his widow, children, family, and friends.
We also pay special tribute to his memory.
Unfortunately, the growing and unbridled political divisions and intolerance in our country’s politics have led to this bloody drama.
No doctrine, no election dispute, no principle, or proclaimed political position, and division in the nation can justify atrocious acts such as the physical elimination of Kafwaya and any other citizen who might have died with him. No crime can be committed in the name of elections or law enforcement.
Let a sense of sobriety, humanity and justice prevail in our hearts and in our homeland.
May Kafwaya’s soul rest in eternal peace.
Fred M’membe
President of the Socialist Party
