NETANYAHU WARNS TURKEY: “WE WILL NOT TOLERATE” A MILITARY PRESENCE MOVING SOUTH

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has issued a direct warning to Turkey following Israeli strikes on Turkish-linked assets in Syria.

Netanyahu said Israel “will not tolerate a Turkish military entrenchment that moves south.”

He claimed Israel had received information that Turkey intended to establish itself at an airfield near Aleppo and said Israel had already delivered a warning.

But according to Netanyahu, the warning was apparently not enough.

“We delivered a message,” he said. “Apparently they didn’t hear it. So we made sure they understood it in a better way.”

The remarks signal a sharp escalation in tensions between Israel and Turkey over their competing military interests in Syria.
