Chris Zumani Zimba warns petitioning 2026 election results amid terror allegations would be a “Big Mistake”

Former President Edgar Lungu’s political advisor, Chris Zumani Zimba, has cautioned that petitioning the allegedly manipulated 2026 presidential election results amid terrorist allegations against the petitioners would be a “big mistake.”
As a founder, Secretary General, and Chief Advisor of the Tonse Alliance, Mr. Zumani Zimba has declared he will not participate in the petition.
He is instead calling for dialogue, healing, peace, and reconciliation in response to the alleged manipulation of the election results.
In a Facebook post this morning, Mr. Zumani Zimba has emphasized that avoiding the petition would benefit many detainees and asylum seekers, stating:”With such fire, petitioning Presidential Results will be a big mistake!
“As for me, as Tonse Alliance Founder, SG & Chief Advisor, I will NOT be part of it. Let dialogue, healing, peace & reconciliation reign now to serve many detained & hiding!”
